FAQ ON APPLICATION PROCEDURE TO BE A CIT OR COUNSELOR IN 2019

What training is required of counselors and CITs in preparation for the camp?

All counselors and CITs are expected to attend our monthly planning sessions beginning on March 2nd, 2019.  The sessions are held on the 1st Saturday of each month from 3:15 - 5:45pm at the Chestnut Hill Center, 481 Hammond Street, Chestnut Hill, MA. Instead of our regular monthly meeting in May, we will have a weekend-long training session in Randolph, Vermont for all Counselors and CITs from Friday evening, April 26 through Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2019. There will be an extra June session on the third Saturday of the month, June 15th.

Who is eligible to be a Counselor-in-Training (CIT)?

High school boys entering grade 9 in the Fall of 2019 are eligible to apply to be CITs.

NOTE: CITs participate in all counselor training, but do not attend the camp. Instead, they will attend a special 3 night trip to visit Revolutionary War battlefields from Friday, July 5th through Monday, July 9, 2019. There is no interview required for the CIT program.

What is the fee to be a CIT?

CITs pay a $150 fee to enter the program.

Who is eligible to be a counselor?

High school boys entering grades 10, 11, or 12 in the fall of 2019 and young men through college age are eligible to apply to be counselors. Please call JP Lechner at 202-733-0771 for further information.

What is the fee to be a counselor?

There is no fee for counselors.

What are the 2019 camp dates?

The camp will run from Sunday, June 23 through Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Where will the camp be held?

The camp will take place at St. Joseph's College in Maine, 278 Whites Bridge Road, Standish, ME 04084.
